Average monthly net earnings for May 2016 amounted to EUR 1,016.36; compared to earnings for April 2016 they were lower by 0.5% in nominal terms and by 1.4% in real terms.
Average monthly earnings in the private sector lower, in the public sector about the same compared to April 2016
Compared to April 2016, in the private sector average monthly gross earnings for May 2016 were lower by 1.0%, while in the public sector they stayed about the same.
Average monthly earnings decreased the most in arts, entertainment and recreation
Compared to April 2016, average monthly net earnings for May 2016 decreased the most in arts, entertainment and recreation (by 4.4%), followed by wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (by 3.0%), while the highest increase was recorded in mining and quarrying (by 3.4%) and in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (by 1.5%).
Average monthly earnings for May 2016 higher than the national average only in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region
The highest average monthly earnings for May 2016 were received by persons employed in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region; they amounted to EUR 1,103.00 net (i.e. about EUR 87 more than the national average). The lowest average monthly earnings were received by persons employed in the Primorsko-notranjska statistical region; they amounted to EUR 917.17 net (i.e. about EUR 99 less than the national average).
