Successful completion or exemption from Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management awarded by FTMSGlobal Academy or equivalent.

Note: FTMSGlobal entry requirements are communicated via “Years of basic education” i.e. 9years, 10years, 11years or 12years which are equivalent to ‘N’ Level, GCE ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level

When prior education is not in the English Language any one of the following is required:

  • Professional Certificate of English - Intermediate awarded by FTMSGlobal Academy OR
  • Any other equivalent English qualifications

Classroom face-to-face lectures and tutorials.

Written examinations.

All exemptions are subject to academic board approval.

Food and Beverage Management

The aim of this module is to provide students with knowledge of Food and Beverage Management system and how they are designed to support the students to manage the restaurant in the hospitality industry.

 

Facilities and Maintenance Management

Facilities management is firmly established as an important subject in the academic discipline in the higher education sectors. This is because this subject introduces the balance of generic management skills core quality of an organization, the value and the risk in processes and to be focused on the facilities operations.

 

Human Resource Management

This module will provide the students with an in-depth understanding of the strategic and coherent approach to an organization's most valued assets - the people. This module will also focus on effective business practices in the hospitality industry, like performance and reward management, to ensure the motivation and success of the human resource of the company.

 

Marketing Management

This module is designed to provide an overview of the marketing environment in which organizations operates. It also investigates the role and function of marketing within the context of changing hospitality industry’s business setting and increasing international competition.

 

Management Accounting

This module covers few aspects of the management accounting systems. It focuses on the management accounting tools used in the hospitality industry. Management accounting allows the students to explore the control tools and performance measures to measure attainment of the organisational goals.

 

Group Project

This is a research based module whereby students are supposed to do a research on topics which they are studying concurrently with the other Higher Diploma modules over the same period of time. This is allow the students to understand the subject matters in the hospitality industry better in analysing and interpreting the information and knowledge they have acquired throughout the lecture. This will also enable them to think and make recommendations for their future action when they are working in the actual working industry.

 

Industrial Attachment (6 months)

This module provides a leap in students’ practical learning journey by further exposing them to the day-to-day work environment of a professional in the field of hospitality and tourism. Students get to learn about the latest developments in the industry and are given more opportunities to use their initiative to translate theories learnt in classrooms in an actual working environment. On completion of the course, students will gain the experience and confidence they need to pursue their chosen career after studies.

Students have to demonstrate their 21th century skills and attributes, and are fully responsible for the successful completion of the course, for their success at the interview session and securing the internship. Students can secure internship in or outside Singapore. They should work at established hotels, restaurants, etc to gain valuable real-world experience that will be paramount to them becoming the next-generation of the hospitality industry’s elite. FTMSGlobal will assist in the internship through mock interviews and arrange grooming and interview sessions for the individuals. Students who are unable to secure the IA will have to successfully complete a 3-months Research Group Project.

Successful completion of all modules.

Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management by FTMSGlobal Academy.

Students who successfully complete the Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management can progress to any of the Bachelors Degree Programmes offered by FTMSGlobal Academy or any other equivalent qualifications.
