The mission of our University is to shape the creative and critical personalities of students and define the directions of development in science and technology. The education offered at our institution is strongly linked with scientific research and the needs of economy and is consistent with standards of the European Higher Education Area. The degrees awarded by Wrocław University of Technology are a symbol of high quality of education, confirmed by the National Accreditation Committee and the Accreditation Committee of Universities of Technology.

The university offers Bachelor and Master programmes and Doctoral studies. We apply the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and issue Diploma Supplements. There are over 35 thousand students at Wrocław University of Technology enrolled in a wide range of fields offered by the following faculties and departments:

Admission

The graduates and even students of the university are among those sought by the employers. In 2013 ranking of universities whose graduates are particularly sought by employers by Wprost magazine Wrocław Unviersity of Technology was ranked second in Poland.

In its own way Wrocław seems to specialize in education of engineers, a big number of whom in the IT and communications fields, who can easily find employment in the city itself or anywhere in the world.

The university not only maintains lively contacts with teaching and research institutions from all over the world but at the same time with the industry. Thanks to the co-operation agreements signed, students and employees of the Wrocław University of Technology have the opportunity to take part in joint research projects, students can also do internships or write their diploma theses who are at the same time practical solutions and ideas to be implemented.

The offer for the industry is also carried out by the certified laboratories of the university

WrocÅ‚aw University of Technology is also an active organizer of numerous international conferences, exhibitions, seminars and symposia e.g. Progress in Quantum Cryptography "seQre2014".

Just to give you an idea selected teaching facilities include:

  • over 250 buildings with modern laboratories, libraries and multimedia teaching rooms
  • 350 teaching rooms and lecture studios
  • over 460 teaching laboratories
  • over 100 computer laboratories
  • wireless Internet access in 95% of buildings
  • free of charge access to the software including: Microsoft, SAS Institute, MatLab, Origin, Statistica, LabView, ANSYS Academic Teaching, Introdusctory, Autocad

 

The university continuously invests in infrastructure. The recent investments include a Geocenter as well as Environmental Library of Science and Technology for Innovative Economy.

Admission

The university´s admission team are ready to receive and process applications from students from all over the world. Taken into account the students come from different countries with its own specific education systems we make sure each application is assessed very carefully.

Generally the entry requirements for qualifications obtained outside Poland can be put forward as follows:

  • For Bachelor programmes:
    a secondary school qualification giving the holder access to a Bachelor programme in the country in the educational system of which the issuing institution operates
  • For Master programmes:
    a Bachelor´s degree, usually in the prospective studies related filed, in case of applicants for 1,5 year long degree programmes being the equivalent of Polish inzynier degree, giving the holder access to a Master programme in the country in the educational system of which the issuing institution operates, issued by a recognized institution
  • For Doctoral programmes:
    a master´s degree , giving the holder access to a PhD programme in the country in the educational system of which the issuing institution operates, issued by a recognized institution

Language Requirements

should be a holder of a language certificate which will confirm the knowledge of English equivalent to minimum 6 points IELTS, minimum 550 points TOEFL pBT or miminum 79-80 TOEFL iBT

A list of all English language certificates accepted by the Admission Office can be checked online on the university´s website.

Please note that there is a possibility of taking an University of Cambridge ESOL Examination in the Department of Foreign Languages of Wroclaw University of Technology.

Candidate applying for study in Polish should:

  • be a holder of a certificate confirming the knowledge of Polish issued by National Commission for Certifying the Knowledge of Polish as a Foreign Language (Polish: PaÅ„stwowa Komisja PoÅ›wiadczania ZnajomoÅ›ci JÄ™zyka Polskiego jako Obcego) or
  • graduate from a one-year preparatory Polish language course in one of the institutions indicated by the minister (there are only a few such institutions in Poland including the one in the Department of Polish Language for Foreigners at WrocÅ‚aw University of Technology, having long traditions) or
  • pass an exam in Department of Polish Language for Foreigners at WrocÅ‚aw University of Technology

 

Intakes and Application Deadlines

There are two intakes for full time degree programmers and language courses: October and February one.
The deadlines to apply are 15th of July for the October intake and 30th of November for the February intake. Please make sure you check the exception in case of some double degree/joint degree programmers on our website.
The deadline to apply for a Doctoral Programme is 31st of May.
